Frequently Asked Questions
-
This workshop is for anyone who feels tired, bloated, foggy, inflamed, stuck, overwhelmed by wellness advice, or like something is “off” but they do not know where to start. It is especially helpful if you have been trying to eat healthy but still struggle with low energy, cravings, digestion issues, poor sleep, skin issues, or weight loss resistance.
-
Functional health looks at the body as a connected system and asks why symptoms are happening in the first place. Instead of only focusing on the symptom, functional health looks at things like digestion, food, stress, sleep, hormones, nutrient status, gut health, and lifestyle patterns to better understand what the body may need.
-
Traditional healthcare is important and can be life-saving, especially for acute care, emergencies, diagnosis, and medical treatment. Functional health focuses more on prevention, root-cause investigation, lifestyle, nutrition, and helping people understand why they may feel tired, bloated, inflamed, foggy, or unlike themselves even when basic labs look “normal.”
-
Food sensitivities are different from food allergies. Food allergies are typically immediate and can be severe. Food sensitivities may be delayed and harder to identify because symptoms can show up hours or even days after eating a food. They may contribute to symptoms like bloating, fatigue, brain fog, skin issues, digestive issues, joint discomfort, and inflammation in some people.
-
Yes, in some people, foods that are generally considered healthy may still not work well for their body at a certain time. A food can be nutrient-dense and still trigger symptoms for an individual. This is why I always say the better question is not just, “Is this food healthy?” but “Is this food healthy for me right now?”
-
Bloating can happen for many reasons, including food sensitivities, gut irritation, poor digestion, stress, eating too quickly, low stomach acid, gut bacteria imbalances, constipation, or foods that are difficult for your body to break down. This workshop will help you understand why bloating is a clue, not just something to ignore.
-
Low energy can be connected to many things, including blood sugar swings, under-eating, over-caffeinating, poor sleep, cortisol rhythm issues, food sensitivities, gut health, nutrient absorption, stress, or hormone imbalances. The goal is to stop guessing and start looking at what your body may be trying to communicate.
-
Your gut is connected to digestion, nutrient absorption, immune function, inflammation, detox pathways, hormones, and even brain health. When digestion is not working well or the gut barrier is under stress, it can affect far more than your stomach. This is why gut health is such an important part of functional wellness.
-
Cortisol is one of your main stress hormones. It helps wake you up, respond to stress, and keep you going throughout the day. But cortisol should follow a healthy rhythm: higher in the morning and gradually lower throughout the day. When that rhythm is off, it may contribute to fatigue, poor sleep, cravings, feeling wired but tired, or low resilience.
-
No. This workshop is not about forcing everyone to quit coffee. We’ll talk about how to use caffeine in a way that works better for your body, including timing, drinking it after food, avoiding it too late in the day, and noticing whether coffee is supporting your energy or masking exhaustion.
-
Metabolic typing is a way of looking at how different people may do better with different ratios of protein, fat, and carbohydrates. The idea is that nutrition is not one-size-fits-all. Some people feel better with more protein and fat, while others feel better with more carbohydrates from foods like fruits and vegetables. The goal is to learn how to portion your plate in a way that supports your energy, digestion, and metabolism.
-
This workshop is not a quick weight loss promise, but it will help you understand why food quality, cravings, digestion, inflammation, sleep, stress, and blood sugar all matter when it comes to weight. Many people focus only on calories, but functional health looks at the bigger picture of why the body may feel stuck.

Yes. There will be a live Q&A at the end of the workshop so you can ask questions about food sensitivities, gut health, cravings, caffeine, cortisol, digestion, labs, or where to start.
